What does Bookalet do?

Bookalet is a booking management platform that lets you take back full management of the booking process. From managing your bookings through OTAs, through to the initial booking process, blocking off your availability calendar, guest correspondence, payment tracking and final invoicing are all managed through Bookalet

Bookalet is for property owners or property management agents looking for a booking management software that will free up time to build their business!

How do I get started?

To get started with Bookalet, sign up for a free trial. This will let you get your head around how Bookalet works and input all of your properties. Once you have done this, if you need some more support, you can request a demo and one of our team will talk you through the system!

Can I just use part of the Bookalet system?

You can choose to just show the Rate Card, Availability Calendar and Enquiry form to your own website or you may be more than happy with your own site and just want to use the Management Console to track and manage all your bookings. Or you might want to do both these things and then add the online booking functionality too! 

Bookalet is an entirely flexible system that lets you run your business your way.

What features can I add to my own website?

You can add a Rate Card, an Availability Calendar, an Enquiry Form or full Online Booking. The Online booking can either be real-time payment or deferred payment depending on your preference. The Agent account also provides you with a Search Form so guests can filter the properties to find relevant accommodation.

How much does Bookalet cost?

The cost of Bookalet varies depending on the package you choose and the number of properties you have. View our pricing page for more information!

 
Do Bookalet have an affiliate program?

Yes! Here at Bookalet, we're always keen to build relationships with web designers and developers. We know that many of you specialise in the tourism niche and we're keen for you to use Bookalet. As an affiliate, you can earn 10% commussion on your clients first year subscription fee. Simply register your client details with us prior to signing them up for their free account and we will pay you within 30 days of the subscription date. We make life simple for you by generating a self billing invoice, so you don't even need to raise any paperwork.

 
Do Bookalet have an referal program?

Yes! If you have a friend who you think would benefit from using Bookalet, simply share your unique sign up link with them. When they convert their free trial to a paid subscription, you will earn 10% of their subscription in credit towards your next subscription. To find your unique link, go to My Subscription > Referral Credit > Learn more. You can introduce as many friends as you like.

 
What is a Bookalet Lite account?

Bookalet Lite is the entry level product which allows you to manage up to two properties. You can add rate cards, availability calendars and enquiry forms to your own website. You can also take online bookings and payments. The management console allows you to track and record payments, send out payment reminders and receipts, view upcoming arrivals and departures and generally manage all aspects of the booking process.

What is a Bookalet Pro account?

Bookalet Pro has all the benefits of the Lite account as well as some additional features such as SMS notification of bookings, management reports, email marketing, housekeeping/keyholder logins, iCal calendar synchronisation, no limit to the number of properties and fully editable bookings.

What is a Bookalet Team account?

Bookalet Team (previously called Bookalet Agent) caters for multiple properties and has all the benefits of Bookalet Pro with additional functionality including owner and housekeeper logins, enhanced searching and detailed performance reports for day to day management of the business. It also provides an advanced invoicing function for owner payments and commissions.

How does Bookalet's availability and pricing module work?

Your availability is when your bookable is available for customers to book. You can set this yourself and block out weeks that you aren’t available, your property is already booked or for any other reason!

Your pricing is how much you want your customers to pay depending on how many days they are staying, or when during the year they are booking. The pricing is set at a bookable level and can be set via a weekly price (7 days), a split week (e.g. Monday – Friday / Friday – Sunday), Short Break (Nightly Pricing) or Holiday Pricing.

What is instant booking?

If you have your property set up to take instant bookings, this means that customers will be able to choose their holiday dates using the calendar on your website, make payment and complete their booking all online, without you having to approve the booking.

What can I do with Bookalet's email tools?

Bookalet's Email's menu allow you to manage everything that is related to emails sent to your guests. You can preview email templates, design a layout for your emails and schedule when emails are sent. The emails menu is also where you can set your outbound email address.

Can I take online payments with Bookalet?

Yes you can. If you already have a merchant services card and take credit or debit cards over the phone, we can get you upgraded so you can take online payments. If you currently don't take credit/debit cards at all, we can help you. PayPal is a pretty easy way of establishing an online payment facility but the charges can start to add up when you're taking a significant number of bookings through this channel.

Are Bookalet's widgets mobile and tablet responsive?

Yes. We have made the single month calendar and booking form responsive so that it works with the latest mobile devices. There is obviously an interaction between the Bookalet booking form and the host website, but if both are fully responsive, the resultant pages will be mobile compliant.

Can I customise the Bookalet widgets to fit my website design?

Yes, the colours and font of your widgets are customisable to ensure they fit seamlessly within your website design.

How will I be notified when a new booking is made?

When the Booking is taken and paid for, the property owner will receive two emails. First, one to record the fact that a booking has been made and a second when payment has been received.

If you have a Bookalet Pro or Team account, then you can also access additional SMS notification features.

Why do I need to sync my calendars?

Although most holiday home owners prefer to take bookings directly on their own website as it minimises commissions that would otherwise have to be paid to 3rd party portals, we know that there are a lot of people who use a combination of direct bookings along with using 3rd party portals!

If you are using both direct bookings in combination with 3rd party bookings it’s important to ensure your calendars are synchronised to avoid double bookings.

What does Bookalet use to sync calendars?

We currently use iCal (.ics) files to share information between calendars. We are able to both export the Bookalet calendar to other portals who accept the iCal file and we also import iCal files from other portals.

How often does the calendar sync?

We run the routine every 20 minutes on the Bookalet site.

Can I edit the imported bookings from 3rd party portals?

Yes, you can edit the booking to put in as much detail as you want. For example, once the booking has been completed and you get paid by Airbnb, you can then edit the rental value so you have a full record.

Who does Bookalet sync with?

Bookalet syncs with a number of channels including AirBnb, Vrbo, HolidayLettings, Independent Cottages, Booking.com and more!

Can I use my own domain name with the website builder?

Yes, you can use your own domain name with our website builder. We have a helpful guide to get you started.

Can I use Google Analytics with my Bookalet website?

Yes. To add your analytics code, select ‘Design->Google Analytics’ from the left hand menu. Then paste in the script supplied by Google and press the Save button, once this is done simply publish your website to make the changes live and you should then be able to see your visits in the real-time section of Google Analytics to verify that it’s all working OK.
