The main reason for using the Bookalet website builder is so that we can easily update and amend things without needing professional help
We moved to Lincolnshire at the end of August 2022 and cracked on first with making the house habitable for us. June 2023 we received our planning permission and only a few weeks later ground works started. Our ethos is about repurposing and being as environmentally friendly as possible. Most of the rest of 2023 was taken up with getting the services installed and ground works completed. We did however manage to site 4 out of the 5 vehicles and have the decks constructed. With our ethos and also our name, The Layby Lincs, all our paths and the pads for the vehicles are made using recycled road planings. 2024 has seen the construction of all the bathroom cabins on the decks and all five bathrooms being fitted out. We have also insulated, lined and decorated all the vehicles. In May we had the AC units installed and they have been running ever since. Our entire site is powered by a massive solar array and fed from a big battery bank.
We wanted to avoid OTAs and handle all the bookings through our website. We have been building a following on social media to help us generate bookings. We have used Bookalet for not only their booking system but also their website builder. We have had some help from a couple of graphic designer friends, but the main reason for using the Bookalet website builder is so that we can easily update and amend things without needing professional help.
