Bookalet Spring Newsletter 2017

Bookalet Spring Newsletter 2017

Channel Management
For a while now bookalet has provided an iCal file for each property in the system. This allows availability information to be updated in third party portals such as Airbnb, HomeAway and Holidaylettings and hence, reducing the possibility of double bookings. We have now introduced a 2 way sync to allow these other portals to update the bookalet site with their availability information. You can now keep your calendars co-ordinated regardless of which system you update first. We hear that are also about to start accepting iCal files. (Gold and Agent accounts)
Formatting of Booking Forms
Having previously introduced a new set of fully responsive bookings forms to make everything suitable for mobile viewing, we’ve now added a new “Themes” section. This gives you complete control over the appearance of your availability and booking forms by giving you the ability to choose the colour scheme and fonts to best suit your own website.

Credit/Debit Card Surcharges
Bookalet has built in support for a selection of online payment methods such as Stripe, Paypal, Worldpay and Sagepay to name but a few. Many of our customers have asked if it’s possible to add a surcharge to these online payment methods. The simple answer is, yes we can.  Just let us know and we’ll activate your account with this facility. You’ll then be able to specify different surcharges for credit and debit cards, which in turn, will allow you to pass on merchant services charges to your guests.

Visit England “Bookability” Conference
We recently exhibited at this conference in Kent, organised by Visit England which was designed to help self catering businesses and campsites to maximise their online presences and in particular, explore the benefits of using an online booking system. It was an excellent day, attended by many of the established providers and there were some great panel sessions exploring the future of the holiday home rental industry. It was great to meet some of our existing clients as well as many newcomers, who were just getting started on their journey. We understand these sessions may be rolled out around the UK, so watch this space!

Agent Search Widget
Following consultation with a number of our letting agents, we’ve recently made some improvements to the Search Widget provided in the Agent account. You can now search by a number of different filters, display results in grid or list formats and even add icons relating to the facilities offered. You can see an implementation of the widget here:

Website Design and Development
Since the introduction of our website design and development service last year, we’ve been overwhelmed with the level of interest this has generated. Clearly, people like the idea of having a one stop shop for their online presence. So, whether it’s a single property site or a multiple property agency site you’re looking for, we’d be happy to help. Contact us at or 01234 834716 to discuss your requirements.

Here’s looking forward to a fully booked summer.
