How to Improve Holiday Let SEO

The Holiday Let industry is extremely competitive and we often get questions on how you can improve your Holiday Let SEO.  We have put together this guide full of tips and tricks on how to make your website stand out!

Firstly, if you don’t already have your own website for taking direct bookings; take a look at the Bookalet Web Builder! This is an easy way to develop your own website without needing any knowledge of code. Simply drag and drop elements until you are happy with your new site.

When you have your website, you’ll need to consider SEO.

What Actually Is SEO?

SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimisation’, and it means exactly that! SEO is how you can edit your website to make it more attractive to search engines, for example Google, so that it appears as a search result for more people.

How Can I Improve SEO?

Consider your Keywords – When creating the content for your website, you will need to do some keyword research. Make sure that you are including all relevant keywords in your written content. This includes Meta discriptions and page titles!

Build Links – Google loves links! The more successful websites that link to your website, the better your website will rank. Try to get your website featured in external blogs, social media, local business websites and more.

Quality Content – Make sure that your website is worth visiting! Make it look smart and make it easy to use. If your website is slow or confusing to use, people will just look elsewhere.

Make Sense – Adding bulk keywords will only work if they actually make sense within your content. Google (or other search engines) will look for keywords within text that makes sense and that it believes will be useful information for people searching these terms.

Analytics – Setting up an analytics or tracking system such as Google Analytics will allow you to monitor what is working for you. This is an important insight which can be used to your advantage.

Social Media – Building social media accounts and sharing website content to them will create more traffic to your website. Make sure that you are only sharing good quality content and build a community of past guests and potential guests who are interested in your property!

Landing Pages – Create landing pages which lead to specific keyword terms such as “Cambridge City Centre Apartment Rental” as well as “Cambridgeshire Travel Accomodation”, this will make your website more accessible to people who are searching these specific terms. These pages can be hidden, they don’t need to show up in your navigation bar and make your website look messy. They just work as pages to land on to then direct people to other areas of your website.
